Luminance refers to the amount of light emitted, reflected, or transmitted by a surface or object per unit area. It measures the brightness or intensity of the light perceived by an observer. Luminance is usually measured using the Candela Steradian per Sq Meter for Illuminance. Note that the value of Luminance is always negative.
Can the Luminance be negative?

What unit is used to measure Luminance?
