FAQ

What is the Carrier Velocity?
Carrier Velocity in a photodiode refers to the speed at which charge carriers (either electrons or holes) move within the semiconductor material under the influence of an applied electric field. Carrier Velocity is usually measured using the Meter per Second for Speed. Note that the value of Carrier Velocity is always positive.
Can the Carrier Velocity be negative?
No, the Carrier Velocity, measured in Speed cannot be negative.
What unit is used to measure Carrier Velocity?
Carrier Velocity is usually measured using the Meter per Second[m/s] for Speed. Meter per Minute[m/s], Meter per Hour[m/s], Kilometer per Hour[m/s] are the few other units in which Carrier Velocity can be measured.
